Day 1

Walk by Bay Bridge To Ferry Building
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: San Francisco, CA 94111, USA
Notes:

From the internet: The piers around the Bay Bridge offer very nice panoramic views both of the bridge itself and the northern part of the city. You can easily spot the Coit Tower looking behind you. And if you have the opportunity to visit during non-busy periods, you can enjoy the very soothing and calm sound of the ocean while sitting on a little bench facing waterside.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 1 Ferry Building, San Francisco, CA 94111, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Since moving to SF a year and a half ago I have been to the Ferry Building 7 times. It is a must for any tourist or local. My personal favorite days to go are the ones when the farmers market is open. There are many free samples and wonderful food businesses to check out. I would highly recommend going to anyone who has taste buds. Fair warning, go with an empty stomach! Very family friendly and very safe. Includes a wonderful view of the Bay Bridge from the back eating area.

Cost/Budget: $50
Location: San Francisco, CA 94133, USA

Walk from Ferry Building to Pier 39

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: San Francisco, CA 94133, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Five stars for being the best tourist trap in San Francisco. Pier 39 is nothing but unique restaurants, one of a kind shops and an game arcade. Great place to walk around and watch people. The view of the water from the pier are worth seeing and taking a few pictures. The street artist and performers add to the ambiance. Place almost always packed and parking can be tricky. I'm a local and keep coming back. I know it's tourist trap, which is why I guess I keep coming back.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: San Francisco, CA 94109, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Parking - Parking is the only issue. It's so hard to find parking - It's not even funny. But once you've found some and you're there, then this is arguably one of the best places in San Francisco. There's a great park, a great museum, plenty to do, great ships and stuff, guided tours, great views. But above all, it has so much else nearby. You can catch the seals on a pier. You can go eat at Ghirardelli. Shop. Just so much to do here!

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 900 North Point St #52, San Francisco, CA 94109, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Great chocolates! The best, locally made and tastiest. The coffee is exceptional. They have quite a few items for sale for the average tourist. They get busy on a nice day, be patient the line moves fast. Was impressed with the quick and friendly service. Love the factory turned shopping center. The lawn across the street is awesome for a picnic on one of the many benches provided you don't wish to take up residence. The local homeless are not allowed to loiter here so the visitors can enjoy the location.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 2765 Hyde St, San Francisco, CA 94109, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Took wife here to enjoy the infamous Irish Coffee drink. Seating is whatever is open. We sat next to the front windows with a great view of the cable car trolleys. Our waitress, Nita, was extraordinary. She was friendly, personable and very attentive. She rated a 100+%, just awesome service. Drinks were $11.00 each plus I ordered calamari while wife ordered a burger. Food was brought out hot and was delicious. Again just great service from Nita. She even put up with me asking her questions about the most Irish Coffee drinks one person ever had. She was very attentive, in that she readily refilled our other drinks and knew what we needed before we asked. We had an amazingly good time which was only exceeded by Nita's awesome service. I understand she has been employed there for a long time. I hoped the business realizes what a gem they have. We can recommend going here for the Irish Coffee, food and for exemplary service, hope you get Nita.

bart then walk to the park

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Dolores St & 19th St, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Mission Dolores Park is always a pleasant experience and friendly environment. Nice weather in SF last week, surprisingly the park had few people around. Enjoying time either by myself or with friends is fun. From the park is easy to visit Castro which is colorful and beautiful, also to go to Mission it is diverse, the community has plenty of cuisine, cafes and so on. On Summer, Dolores park has an area called “gay beach” where everyone enjoys time outside to play various games, listening different music and take that sun bath.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Mission District, San Francisco, CA, USA
Notes:

Walk the main streets

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 90 Clarion Alley, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA
Notes:

From the internet: If you’re in San Francisco, make sure to take a walk in this street. The street art is beautiful and some of it focuses on demotic international human rights causes. Make sure to spend sometime actually taking a look at the art. Much of it is in the details.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 2889 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Forget about the "best burrito" thing. The grilled burrito is great but La Taqueria has always been better known by locals for the best tacos in the city. Order "crispy" with cheese and add guacamole. Prices are a little high and the line can be long but guess what, it's a family owned business run by amazing people. Definitely worth a visit. I won't stand in line for many restaurants, but this is one of them.

The Painted Ladies
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Steiner St & Hayes St, San Francisco, CA 94117, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Always gorgeous!! Lots of memories of me and my child when he was younger then. They have a great off- leash portion for doggies and one of the best playgrounds! When my son was four we took a summer to visit as many top-rated playgrounds i.v San Francisco as we could in 2 months. We were on a quest to fund the top ten best parks/ playgrounds in the city limits and we would each take pictures and I'd write (he'd dictate {I'd transcribe}) and we kept a photo- journal log for each visit. At the end of the summer Alamo Square (location of The Painted Lady Homes) was ranked by both of us #3 out of the 37 parks we traveled to that summer!!!!! Enjoy.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 3601 Lyon St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
Notes:

From the internet: The palace of fine arts is such a beautiful spot in San Francisco! So close to the Marina and surrounded by the most beautiful houses. The lake is beautiful and you can see a lot of birds, including seagulls and ducks, and different trees. Great place to have a walk and enjoy the views. The palace is open (I don’t think it’s open on Mondays because that’s when we went and it was not) but inside there’s a small cafeteria and many games to play. Great place to enjoy some time with your family!

Cost/Budget: $25
Location: 151 3rd St, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA
Notes:

From the internet: A very intuitive experience for paintings which were across from different regions. This is my first time visit to kind of these places, definitely a very big space for so many paintings. They have wide variety of wall paintings but the most I liked are some real creative hangings, entrance and exit of each floor, it has 7 floors, open place in the restaurant which has LOVE and a cent figures. They are the best with kids even. They will enjoy too. Bottom line, if you kind of in love with paintings, it is a must visit.

Cost/Budget: $12
Location: 542 Green St, San Francisco, CA 94133, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Holy fudge sauce. The clam garlic is excellent. The pepperoni was awesome. Haven't tried the rest but I will eventually. Get on down there and get a slice. Cash only.

Day 6

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 1004 Point Lobos Ave, San Francisco, CA 94121, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Fun place to check out in SF. It’s always cold by the coast so bring a jacket! It’s fun to go in the day and at night. If you go up the stairs there’s a nice opening to see the stars at night. There’s a cool cave to check out as well but I would check that out during the day. It’s a fun place no matter the time of day. I see a lot of people taking photos here as well. Lots to explore in one spot!

Lands End Trail
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Lands End Trail, San Francisco, CA 94121, USA
Cost/Budget: $30
Location: 309 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, USA
Notes:

From the internet: I enjoyed that I got to try something new. I've never had Burmese food and it was definitely interesting. I kept trying to place where the flavors came from or if it was similar to anything else I've eaten. It's definitely a combination of different spices from different countries. I enjoyed most of the food, but would like to try other dishes before I come to a conclusion about how much I like Burmese food. I felt that the dishes I tried could have used just a bit more citrus or fish sauce. But maybe it's because I'm trying to make it seem like another Asian dish. But if you're looking for something new and different, I'd totally recommend this place and am willing to return. The server made recommendations for my next visit which I think might be more to my liking.

Polk Street
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Polk St, San Francisco, CA, USA

Day 7

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Chinatown, San Francisco, CA, USA
Huntington Park
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: California St & Taylor St, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Such a fun park at the top of a hill, across the street from a gorgeous cathedral. Love this place! It's a little over one mile walk from Union Square, but it's a very steep incline the entire time...don't recommend the walk for you g kids as it's a doozy!

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Grace Cathedral, 1100 California St, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Really no words can describe but this place is beautiful. Everytime I come here I leave with the most Joy ever even if I just sit a few minutes. The angels are definitely present indeed. Even if you are not Christian Catholic or don’t even believe in Jesus it’s still a breathtaking and marvelous place architecturally. You don’t need to schedule anything or even come to a service just drop in at your own time. It’s peaceful and free.

Cost/Budget: $15
Location: 809 Bush St, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Came here on a whim and absolutely loved it! The service is good and the food is made fast. It’s delicious! Servings are large and it’s cheap. The inside is small, so you’ll need to take your good to go if it’s busy. I’ll definitely be coming back here!

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 2 Marina Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Great place for going out with friends. Most people at this place are young, but also I've seen families going for a bite. There are many food trucks, so 1 visit won't be enough. There is live music, bench's and tables to enjoy a meal or a talk with good friends. Be ready to take a nice jacket because of the cold wind (at night), other than that is great place. It has plenty of parking spots.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: The Castro, San Francisco, CA, USA

Day 8

Walk Market Street, See Downtown
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Market St, San Francisco, CA, USA
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 425 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA
Notes:

From the internet: Salesforce park is one of the standard places I take friends or family visiting because it is truly a wonder on par with the Golden Gate bridge. This rooftop park has a wide variety of plants from different regions from around the world that share the climate of San Francisco Bay. In addition to this amazing garden and walking path they have events and a plaza with games and tables. It starts getting busy around 11 and stays pretty busy the rest of the day so go early if you want to avoid crowds.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: 1 Dr Carlton B Goodlett Pl, San Francisco, CA 94102, USA
Notes:

From the internet: I’ve lived in the surrounding cities for many years and had no idea how beautiful SF City Hall is. One could spend hours inside. So much to see. I was initially only there to pick up birth certificates so we did not have time to explore fully. Will definitely make a special trip back to do just that.

Cost/Budget: $0
Location: San Francisco, CA, USA
Notes:

From the internet: If you're visiting SF or need a stroll in the city check out the Golden Gate park. It stretches all the way to beach. A lot to do in there. You have the De Young museum, Japanese tea garden, and science museum. Fun place to walk or jog. Be ready for getting some what lost.

Japantown
Cost/Budget: $0
Location: Japantown, San Francisco, CA 94115, USA
