How to Change the Locale Settings in Your Google Sheets

Jin - January 26, 2023

Google Sheets is a powerful tool that supports multiple languages and regions, which can make it a bit tricky when it comes to formatting numbers and dates. Different regions use different conventions for formatting numbers, dates, and currencies, which can lead to confusion and errors when working with a team or trying to keep your personal finances organized. But don't worry, changing the locale settings in your spreadsheet is a breeze!
Step 1: Open your Google Sheets document and click on "File" in the top left corner.
Step 2: Select "Spreadsheet settings."
Step 3: In the "Locale" section, select the country you want to use for your number and date formats. This will ensure that your spreadsheet is using the formatting conventions that are desired.
Step 4: Click "Save and Reload" and that's it! Your number and date formats will now be updated throughout the entire spreadsheet.
